Doing all of the words seemed like it would overwhelm my 5 year old, so I chose just 24 words to use. There are 72 words in the book that are rhymed with at least one other word in the book. Our inspiration was this page from the book where Thing One and Thing Two fly kites in the house. At least the Cat always cleans up his messes. The Cat makes reading fun! He gets into lots of trouble and the fish warns Sally and her brother that their mother will not approve of the Cat’s antics. Seuss changed the world of beginning readers.
