Though Rossetti always maintained that "Goblin Market" is a children's poem, the strongly erotic elements underlying what is superficially a moral lesson make it a multi-layered and complex work. "Goblin Market" is the most discussed of Rossetti's poems and is widely considered to be her greatest work. The poem is also available in The Complete Poems of Christina Rossetti (1979) and the 2001 issue of the same edition, simply titled The Complete Poems. The English Victorian poet Christina Rossetti's allegorical poem "Goblin Market" initially appeared in Goblin Market and Other Poems (1862), the first volume of her poetry to be commercially published.
